EXTERNAL CONTROL

Objective

The external control is carried out on behalf of the Project Manager by an independent company separate from the one executing the works. Its purpose is to ensure that the diagnosis and recommended work determined before the implementation of the works are adhered to.

What do we inspect?

As an external control service, with the support of our testing and inspection laboratories, we verify:

    • The quality of the implementation of the works (milling thickness, cleanliness of the surface, compaction, etc.), including in situ characteristics of the pavement:
      • Longitudinal evenness
      • Grip and macro-texture
      • Retro-reflection of horizontal markings (paint)
    • The characteristics of the materials used, relying on the testing and inspection laboratory.

TESTING AND INSPECTION LABORATORY

Objective

Thanks to our testing and inspection laboratories spread across the French national territory, we can control and test the characteristics of infrastructure materials, as well as study their behavior.

What tests can be conducted?

Thanks to our laboratories, we can conduct inspections and tests on:

      • Asphalt mixes
      • Bitumen
      • Emulsions
      • Aggregates
      • Concrete
      • Cements
      • Soils

EXTERNAL REVIEW

Objective

When a construction company needs to perform quality controls on the construction sites it is involved in, it can call on an external company to carry out internal control, this is what is called external review.

We can provide our resources and teams to conduct the external review of construction companies, provided that our teams are not already involved in the project for which we are commissioned

What do we control?

As external inspectors, relying on our testing and inspection laboratories for part of the quality tests, we verify:

  1. The quality of the work implementation (milling thickness, cleanliness of the substrate, compaction, etc.), including the in-situ characteristics of the pavement:
    • Longitudinal evenness.
    • Adhesion and macro-texture.
    • Retro-reflection of horizontal markings (paint).
  2. The characteristics of the materials in place, with support from the testing and inspection laboratory.”

OBTAINING THE CE MARKING

Objective

Relying on our testing and inspection laboratories, we conduct regular annual monitoring of production for asphalt plants, quarries, and other facilities producing materials subject to CE marking: bitumen, emulsions, cements, asphalt, and aggregates. The consistency of results obtained (over a period of time and a minimum number of analyses) allows for the classification of the quality of various characteristics of the controlled material, declaration of its characteristics, and, if applicable, affixing a CE label.

We also provide assistance to companies involved in the production of construction materials, supporting them on quality aspects: helping them draft their quality manual in compliance with CE marking requirements, and guiding them through the audit process.
